2.00pm – 4.00pm 12th November
The Borough Museum and Art Gallery, Brampton Park, Newcastle-under-Lyme

This seminar will attempt to examine the relationship between artists and investors in arts. The most direct way for an investor to support artists is through collection of their works. This relationship has been around for time immemorial, but what relevance does it have to today, what does it take to be a collector and become a collected artist, and what are the effects of being in a public or private collection.

The Speakers will be:

  • Stephen Snoddy, director of the New Art Gallery, Walsall
  • Special Guest TBA

Spaces for this talk are limited so booking is essential please contact NGS or call 01782 261221

Conjunction 10 Discussion | 30th October

The New Generation Space Project is hosting a series of Artist’s Talks, as part of the Conjunction Biennial. The first of these will be on Saturday the 30th October at 1.00pm – 4.00pm, at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, in the Forum Theatre.

The artist taking part in this talk are:

  • Paul Rooney
  • Juneau Projects
  • Michael Branthwaite
  • The Curators of Conjunction10

The invited artists have all taken part in this year’s biennial and have produced work which responds to the the theme of ‘ESCAPE’. The talks will invite the artists to give both a background to their practices, the work they have produced and how they see it in the context of the theme for this year’s biennial. It is hoped that there will be some areas in which discussion between the artists can take place; especially where there is cross-over of ideas or where approaches differ, there will be an opportunity for discussion with the audience at the end of the seminar.

Pre-Booking is advised for this event

Please contact NGS or call 01782 261221 to book a place.
